Standards Sub-Committee

Purpose of committee

The role of the sub-committee is to consider the outcomes of investigations of complaints about councillors and co-opted members and to determine whether a councillor or member had failed to comply with the Code of Conduct. The sub-committee could also considered possible actions or sanctions if appropriate.


The sub-committee will comprise of 4 members including at least 1 independent member and 3 councillors.  Where at least 1 independent member or councilor would have been present but for the fact that he or she has a prejudicial interest in the business to be transacted the quorum for the meeting shall be any 3 members. Membership of the Sub-Committee is drawn from the Standards Committee.
