Mr Stephen Clarke

Biography

I joined the Standards Committee, as an independent member, when it was first established about 12 years ago, and have chaired the committee for 10 years now.

Originally from the South East, I moved north to study engineering at Manchester University.  I then joined ICL working as a computer engineer in manufacturing – this was in the days when computers were the size of a large room and made out of transistors!  I continued to work for the same company, which ended up being Fujitsu Services, undertaking a range of roles including design engineering, quality management, marketing and business development.  I took early retirement a couple of years ago and have started to learn to play golf.  I’m also a trustee of Disability Stockport, helping out with their marketing where I can.

I’ve lived in Stockport for over 40 years now, living all over the town including Bramhall, Heaton Norris and Offerton.
