The Area Committee has approved an application from Cancer Research UK to utilise Woodbank Memorial and Vernon Parks for its annual 5K charity event on 17 May 2020, subject to all appropriate paperwork and licences being obtained and submitted to the Council at least one week prior to the event taking place.

The Area Committee has approved Ward Flexibility Funding of £750 from Cheadle and Gatley Griffins Dodgeball club to purchase equipment and the cost of an additional paid coach for a new Under 14 group, to be funded as follows:-

The Area Committee has approved a proposal to upgrade the existing lighting around Brinnington Park to match the public realm area around First House, improving the lighting levels with environmentally friendly energy efficient LED lighting units, at an approximate cost of £3,800 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Brinnington and Central Ward allocation). 

The Area Committee has approved Ward Flexibility Funding of £440 to Age UK Stockport towards the cost of facilitating community events, to be funded as follows:-

The Area Committee has approved an application from T3 Events Ltd to utilise Woodbank Memorial Park for its 2^nd Rockstock Music Festival on 23/24 May 2020, subject to all appropriate paperwork and licences being obtained and submitted to the Council at least one week prior to the event taking place and rigidly adhered to, and this being confirmed to the Ward Councillors.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application for Ward Flexibility Funding from the High Lane Residents’ Association for a grant of £215.80 (£215.80 from the Marple South & High Lane Ward allocation) from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of replacing broken planters, filling with good soil and planting small shrubs.

The Area Committee has approved Ward Flexibility Funding of £600 to the Great Moor Scout Explorer Unit for towards the cost of a laptop and expedition camp equipmenrt.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application for Ward Flexibility Funding from the Age UK Stockport for a grant of £200.20 (£115 from the Marple North Ward and £85.20 from the Marple South & High Lane Ward allocations) from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of facilitating community events.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application for Ward Flexibility Funding from the English Knights Lacrosse for a grant of £150 (£150 from the Marple North Ward allocation) from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of the purchase of playing kit.

The Area Committee has approved Ward Flexibility Funding of £150 to English Knights Lacrosse towards the cost of playing kit, to be funded from the Stepping Hill Ward allocation.

The Area Committee has approved Ward Flexibility Funding of £600 to Age UK Stockport towards the cost of facilitating community events to be funded as follows:-

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Hazel Grove Carnival Association to hold the Hazel Grove Carnival in Torkington Park on 11 July 2019.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Marple Parkrun for the use of Brabyns Park on Saturday, 4 January 2020 until Saturday 30 January 2021to hold their free weekly Adult Parkrun between the hours of 8.30am – 10.00am each Saturday, with the actual run taking place from 9.00am where the runners will run along a predetermined and agreed route.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Marple Junior Parkrun for the use of Brabyns Park from week commencing Sunday, 5 January 2020 until Sunday 31 January 2021to hold their free weekly Junior Parkrun between the hours of 8.00am – 9.50am each Sunday, where runners will run along a predetermined and agreed route.

The Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport has approved the legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation order and subject to no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date the following order can be made:

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Young Caritas for a grant of £450 from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of holding a workshop event.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application for Ward Flexibility Funding from the Jean Byers Community Hub for a grant of £500 from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of holding a number of events at the Hub.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application for Ward Flexibility Funding from the Friends of Reddish South Station for a grant of £700 (£400 from Reddish South Ward, £200 from Reddish North Ward and £100 from Heatons North Ward allocations)  from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of a mural artwork at the station commemorating the 75^th anniversary of VE Day, landscaping and repairing the flower beds at the top of Rowsley Grove and erecting a new noticeboard a the entrance to Bairstow Club.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application for Ward Flexibility Funding from the Dementia Disco for a grant of £700 (£350 from each of the Heatons North and Heatons South Ward allocations) from the Ward Flexibility Budget towards the cost of holding a monthly dementia disco.

The Area Committee has considered a number of objections received to the proposed introduction of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions on Bramhall Park Road, Bramhall and Surrounding Roads and has determined that notwithstanding the objections, the Order be made as advertised.

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from Stockport SHAPES Alliance to hold their annual Olympic Legacy Trail at Bramhall Park on Tuesday, 7 July 2020.
