The Council has been allocated an additional £2.376m capital investment to support highways maintenance and potholes in the borough in this financial year. The Cabinet Member has approved the allocation of the funding as indicated in the report.

 

 

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from the Salvation Army (Stockport Citadel) for a grant of £150 from the Ward Flexibility Budget (£50 from each ward allocation) towards the cost of holding a virtual community carol concert.

The Area Committee has given approval to the undertaking of footway patching works on the passageway between Meadway and Brisbane Close, Bramhall at a cost of £3,100 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bramhall South & Woodford ward allocation).

The Area Committee has given approval to an application from The Salvation Army – Stockport Citadel – Cheadle Heath for a grant of £100 from the Ward Flexibility Budget (£50 from each ward allocation) towards the cost of a Virtual Community Carol Concert, a free event, with a freewill offering to a worthwhile cause. The event is due to take place on 8th December 2020 and will be available as a recording thereafter.

The Area Committee has given approval to the installation of 3 no. wooden bollards along the edge of a grassed verge on Albany Road, Bramhall at a cost of £550 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bramhall South & Woodford ward allocation).

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from the Salvation Army (Stockport Citadel) for a grant of £150 from the Ward Flexibility Budget (£50 from each ward allocation) towards the cost of holding a virtual community carol concert.

The Area Committee noted that the Council had received notification that an appeal against the refusal of planning permission by the Area Committee had been upheld with regard to a proposal for ‘building extension, partial conversion and change of use from Class C3 (Residential Dwelling) to Class D1 (Non –Residential Institution) pre-school and day nursery without complying with condition 17 attached to planning permission DC/062694’ at 175 Didsbury Road, Heaton Mersey; and further that a full award of costs in the appellant’s favour had been granted.

 

The Area Committee has therefore given approval to the allocation of £4,597.50 from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (£1,150.00 from Heatons South, £1,149.50 from Heatons North, £1,149.00 from Reddish South and £1,149.00 from Reddish North Ward allocations) to meet the costs associated with the appeal.

The Heatons & Reddish Area Committee considered this matter at its meeting on 20 July 2020 and supported the recommendation.  However, subsequent to that meeting an anomaly was identified in that part of the original recommendation relating to the proposed traffic regulation order on Ashdene Road.  A revised proposal has been drafted correcting this anomaly which has been incorporated into the above decision of the Cabinet Member, following consultation with the Chair of the Heatons & Reddish Area Committee and the Highway Ward Spokesperson for the Heatons South ward.

The Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport has considered a number of objections received to a proposal to introduce traffic regulation orders associated with a proposed Davenport & Cale Green Permit Parking Scheme, and has:-

 

(1) noted the objections received to the proposed traffic regulation orders.

 

(2) agreed that notwithstanding those objections, the orders should be made as advertised.

 

(3) noted that objectors will be informed of the Cabinet Member’s decision.

 

The Central Stockport Area Committee considered this matter at its meeting on 23 July 2020 and supported the recommendation.
