Open Forum - Access Control Measures Policy Statement pdf icon PDF 404 KB

To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

 

The key message is that Stockport Council wants to explain to residents what the new access control policy entails and to look for feedback from residents about how the policy could be improved or altered to ensure it is ‘best practice’.

The consultation will be online via the “have your say” page on the council website and with hard copies of the documents and the questionnaires in the libraries between 10 January - 11 February.

 

The area committee is recommended to note that the consultation is in progress and utilise their own contacts to encourage people to respond.

7.

Kennerley Road, Davenport - 20mph Zone pdf icon PDF 567 KB

To consider a report of the Director of Place Management.

 

The report requests the Area Committee to give consideration to the extension of the 20mph Zone covering Kennerley Road in Davenport.

 

(NOTE: This report is also due to be considered by the Stepping Hill Area Committee at its meeting on 25 January 2022 as the proposed scheme falls within the boundaries of two area committees).

 

The Area Committee is requested to recommend that the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport gives approval to the legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Order detailed in the report and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the following Oorders at a total cost of £3000 (£1500 to be funded from this Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Davenport & Cale Green Ward Allocation) with the remainder of the balance to be funded from the Stepping Hill Ward allocation).

The report sets out the background to an experimental Traffic Regulation Order covering the Covent Garden Village Development in the Town Centre.

 

The Area Committee is asked to decide whether the Traffic Regulation Order schedule as detailed in the report should now be established on a permanent basis.

The report sets out a proposal to upgrade (and extend) no Waiting at any Time restrictions to introduce a Prohibition of Loading on Marsland Street and Water Street in Portwood.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to approve the statutory legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Orders detailed in the report and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Orders be made.

East Street and Hardman Street / Hollywood Towers - Parking Restrictions pdf icon PDF 309 KB

To consider a report of the Director of Place Management

 

The report details the findings of a consultation exercise and seeks approval for the introduction of a No Waiting at Any Time Traffic Regulation Order on East Street at the junction with Hardman Street on both sides of the junction, at the entrance to Hollywood Towers with associated loading bays to assist Hollywood Towers and further restrictions as shown on Drawing No. NM8/5109/Option A, which will help to prevent parking.

 

That the Area Committee approves the statutory legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Order (detailed in the report and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Order can be made.

The report proposes measures to install a build out of the footway/ install bollards at the junction of Stockport Road and Sandown Road to prevent parking and aid visibility.
