Integrating Health and Social Care and GM Memorandum of Understanding

The report will set out progress with work undertaken by officers of the Council and colleagues from the NHS (commissioners and providers) to develop a shared vision for integrated health and social care provision in Stockport, to inform the redesign of services to enable health and wellbeing outcomes to be achieved within a financially sustainable system. The Executive will be asked to endorse this approach.

 

The report will also update members on the progress being made on the health and social care element of the GM Devolution agreement, and how that may impact upon and benefit the local work. The Executive will be invited to ratify the decision of the GMCA/ AGMA Joint Meeting to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with GM Clinical Commissioning Groups and NHS England about the framework for the development of this work.

The GMCA/ AGMA Executive Joint Meeting agreed the Memorandum of Understanding at its meeting on 27 February 2015, at which point the Council would have been unable to have provided 28 Day Notice of its inention to take this decision, nor was it clear at the time of publication of the agenda what decision was required of the Council.
