The Deputy Chief Executive has given approval to the grant of a temporary compound licence to National Grid Electricity Transmission plc (NGET) at Bowerfold Open Space recreation ground, Heaton Norris for the secure storage of materials and welfare unit during high voltage underground cable replacement works on the terms identified in the confidential report.

In July 2017 the Secretary of State issued a Direction under the Environment Act 1995 requiring seven Greater Manchester local authorities, including Stockport Council, to produce a feasibility study to identify the option which will deliver compliance with the requirement to meet legal limits for nitrogen dioxide in the shortest possible time.

A report that set out the progress that has been made following the Government’s response to Greater Manchester’s Outline Business Case to tackle Nitrogen Dioxide Exceedances at the Roadside, and the implications for the 10 Greater Manchester  local authorities in relation to the schedule of work and statutory consultation on the Clean Air Plan was considered on 4 February 2020 by the Cabinet.

At this time a delegation was given to Corporate Director of Place Management and Regeneration in consultation with the Cabinet Member Adult Care and Health and Director of Public Health to approve the submission of supplementary information.

Consequently, the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration, in consultation with the Cabinet Member Adult Care and Health and Director of Public Health, has given approval to the submission of the following documents to the government's Joint Air Quality Unit in line with that delegation:-

On 22 April 2020, the Cabinet Member for Resources, Commissioning & Governance gave approval to a series of recommendations in relation to strategic investment in an asset of strategic economic and financial importance to Manchester, Greater Manchester and the North West and which provided a significant number of jobs to local residents.  This was published as Executive Decision Reference CMDRCG2.

In accordance with the delegations provided for in the ‘not for publication’ report supporting that decision, the Head of Legal and Democratic Governance has now executed and completed the necessary documents to put into effect that decision.

The Cabinet Member for Resources, Commissioning & Governance has given approval to the allocation of ward flexibility funding, as detailed in Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 of the report.

The relevant ward councillors and/ or area committee chair was consulted on, and have endorsed, the proposed allocations.

The Cabinet Member for Children, Family Services & Education approved the nominated following person to the governing board vacancy at the school(s) indicated :-
