On Wednesday 19th April 2017, the Council published a consultation document and statutory proposal in relation to the removal of the 40 part-time maintained nursery places and an increase to the Published Admission Number (PAN) of Valley Special School to 53, including provision for children aged 2-11.

The publication was followed by a four week consultation period up to Tuesday 16 May 2017. Representations received during the consultation/representation period were presented for consideration in taking a final decision on the proposal. 13 responses were received in total with the majority in support of the proposals.

The Cabinet Member for Education, following consultation with the Corporate Director, has approved without modification the statutory proposal to remove maintained nursery places and increase the Published Admission Number of Valley Special School to 53, including provision for children aged 2-11 with effect from 1 September 2017.
