Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust

To consider a report of the Democratic Services Manager

 

The reports sets out the applications received for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust in accordance with the Area Committee’s previous decision to reserve £25,000 from the Trust towards addressing the effect of loneliness amongst elderly residents and the consequential effect on their health.

 

The Area Committee is requested to consider the applications

As the Area Committee acts as Trustee for the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust, Members are reminded of the need to consider whether the recommendations in this report further the charitable objects of the Trust and to give no weight to the interests of the Council if the Council’s interests do not align with those of the Trust.

 

Minutes:

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) setting out the applications received for funding from the Brookfield Park Shiers Family Trust in accordance with the Area Committee’s previous decision to reserve £25,000 from the Trust towards addressing the effect of loneliness amongst elderly residents and the consequential effect on their health.

 

RESOLVED – (1) That a meeting of a sub-group be arranged, comprising one Member from each of the Wards in the Cheadle area, to consider the applications received.

 

(2) That authority to make any grants prior to the next meeting of the Area Committee be delegated to the Democratic Services Manager, in consultation with the Chair of the Area Committee and members of the sub-group identified in (1) above.
