A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a proposal to change the designation of a number of currently ‘Prohibited Streets’ within the current Town Centre Street Trading Restriction Area to ‘Consent Streets’ for the purpose of operating ‘Managed Sites’.  The report further detailed a proposal to modify the Council’s current Street Trading Policy.

 

RESOLVED – That the Licensing, Environment & Safety Committee be informed of this Committee’s support for the proposed redesignation of a number of ‘Prohibited Streets’ within the Town Centre Street Trading Restriction Area to ‘Consent Streets’ on the basis and to the extent identified in the report, in addition to those associated and consequential modifications to the Council’s Street Trading Policy.

A representative of the Deputy Chief Executive submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) summarising recent appeal decisions, listing current planning appeals and dates for local inquiries and informal hearings according to area committees.

 

It was reported that since the publication of the agenda, the appeal against the refusal of planning permission for the demolition of existing structurally unsound detached house and replacement with a pair of semi-detached houses at 6 Bowen Close had been allowed.  It was further reported that the linked application for costs had not been allowed.
