Minutes:

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) providing details of the independent Section 19 Investigation Report into the flooding in Stockport in June 2016, which was undertaken by Jacobs Engineering on behalf of Stockport Council.

The following comments were made/ issues raised:-

·         Concerns raised previously by members regarding the lack of emphasis on the failure to close Hazelwood Road had been addressed in the final version of the report.

·         It was hoped that further funding would be allocated to flood prevention.

·         Concerns were raised that the recommendations addressed to the Environment Agency did not include deadlines and so may not be actioned.

RESOLVED – That the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration be recommended to submit a further report in 6 months to the Environment & Economy Scrutiny Committee, providing an update on the progress on implementing the report’s recommendations.
