·         The number of referrals to the Contact Centre for a Children’s Social Care assessment was 2691 compared to 3359 referrals for the previous year which was the highest annual figure ever recorded. Those cases which did not meet the need for specialist assessment were referred back through the Supporting Families Pathway for the offer of early help.

·         Safeguarding children and having a competent and well trained workforce remained a high priority in Stockport reflected in the breadth of single agency training provision as well as attendance at the multi-agency programme.
