RESOLVED – That Councillor Kevin Hogg be elected Chair of the Planning & Highways Regulation Committee during consideration of plan no. 45656 for the erection of a dormer bungalow at 5 Roundway, Bramhall.

RESOLVED – (Two in favour, eight against, one abstention) That planning permission be refused as the proposal failed to comply with policies DCD1.1: Design and Character and  Design Principles, CDH1.1 New Residential Development in Predominantly Residential Areas of the Stockport Unitary Development Plan as well as adopted Supplementary Planning Guidance on the Design of New Residential Development.

A representative of the Service Director (Legal & Property) submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) summarising recent appeal decisions, listing current Planning Appeals and dates for local inquiries and informal hearings according to Area Committees.

 

RESOLVED – That the report be noted.

9.

Site Visits

The Service Director (Legal & Property) will attend the meeting to provide an update of the review of the criteria of why a site visit would be recommended to the Planning & Highways Visiting Team.

Minutes:

Members expressed concern in respect to certain planning applications being referred by the Area Committee for site visit and requested that the Area Committees should be mindful of their reasons for recommending a site visit when making their decision.

 

RESOLVED – (1) That the report be noted.

 

(2) That the Democratic Services Manager be requested to circulate the Code of Practice in respect to the criteria of why an Area Committee could recommend a development application for a site visit to each group’s spokesperson for planning.
