MOVED AND SECONDED – That planning permission be refused on the grounds that the proposed development would fail to preserve or enhance the special character and appearance of the Marple Bridge Conservation Area and would consequently be contrary to the requirements of Policy SIE-3 "Protecting, Safeguarding and Enhancing the Environment and Saved Policy HC1.3, "Special Control of Development in Conservation Areas", of the Stockport Unitary Development Plan Review and Supplementary Planning Document 'Extensions and Alterations to Dwellings’.  The proposed development also failed to satisfy Highways requirementsas the width and geometry of the proposed access is such that drivers will not be able to manoeuvre into/ out of the access in a safe and practical manner and in a way that will not adversely affect highway safety or the operation of the highway network and would consequently be contrary to Policies CS9, ‘Transport and Development’, SIE-1 ‘Quality Places’ and T-3 ‘Safety and Capacity on the Highway Network’ of the Stockport Core Strategy DPD.
