The Minutes (copies of which had been circulated) of the meeting held on 10 October 2013were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

(a)              To consider development applications where members of the public have attended the meeting in order to hear the Committee's deliberations.

The report summarises recent appeal decisions; lists current planning appeals and dates for local enquiries; informal hearings for planning appeals, and enforcement action by Area Committee area.

Minutes:

A representative of the Council Solicitor submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) summarising recent appeal decisions, listing current planning appeals and dates for local inquiries and informal hearings according to Area Committees.

 

RESOLVED – (1) That the report be noted.

 

(2) That in the light of the successful appeal against the decision of the Heatons and Reddish Area Committee to refuse planning permission for the conversion of an existing dwelling to a residential children’s home at The Old Rectory, Reddish Road, the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be requested to submit a report to a future meeting of the Committee detailing the current position with regard to the development of Children’s Homes in the Borough with particular regard to:-

 

·         the suitability of the location of Children’s Homes.

·         the proliferation of Children’s Homes within residential areas.

·         the implications of the recent successful planning appeal at The Old Rectory, Reddish Road.

·         the controls that the Council can exercise over these factors in current and future planning policies.
