A representative of the Democratic Services Manager reported that no Member had indicated that they wished a representative of Greater Manchester Police to attend the Area Committee for a specific issue.

Public Realm

The local Public Realm Inspector will attend the meeting to provide an update on matters raised at previous committee meetings. Councillors and members of the public are invited to raise issues affecting local environment quality.

Jacky Budd (Public Realm Inspector) attended the meeting to report on current issues and to answer questions from Councillors and members of the public in relation to public realm issues within the area represented by the Central Stockport Area Committee.  A written summary was also provided of the work carried out by the Public Realm Service (copies of which were circulated).

 

A Member raised the issue of the removal of graffiti at the entrance to Hallam Gardens.

 

RESOLVED – That Jacky Budd be thanked for her attendance.

Petitions

To receive petitions from members of the public and community groups.

Minutes:

A petition containing 218 signatures had been received in connection with development application DC055154 expressing support for the application for the reconfiguration and extension of the existing car park, formation of a new vehicle exit onto Brundett Street and associated landscaping at Manchester Harley Davidson, Hempshaw Lane, Offerton (see agenda 5(iii) for this meeting).

 

RESOLVED – That the petition be considered in connection with the Area Committee’s consideration of the development application later in the meeting (Minute 24 (i) refers).

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) providing an update on the Area Committee’s Highway Maintenance and Traffic Management delegated budget position at the start of April 2014 and outlining the allocation made for 2014/15.

 

A Member raised the issue of the surplus in existence in certain Wards and queried the fact that £10,750 had been allocated to each Ward irrespective of need or the condition of the highways.

 

RESOLVED – (1) That the report be noted.

 

(2) That the allocation of a delegated budget of £10,750 to each Ward irrespective of need be considered by the Group Leaders.
