The Chair announced that the annual ‘Light up Bramhall’ event would be held on Sunday, 2 December between 11.00 am and 5.00 pm.

 

The Chair reminded members of the public that remembrance services would be held at Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme and Woodford war memorials on Sunday, 11 November 2018 and all were welcome to attend.

 

Finally, it was reported that a carol service would be held in Oak Meadow Park on Saturday, 8 December 2018 between 11.00 am and 12 noon.

Councillors and members of the public are invited to raise ‘Neighbourhood Policing’ issues with the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Janet Casserley attended the meeting and submitted an application on behalf of ‘Festive Friends’ for ward flexibility funding towards the cost of a community Christmas dinner.

 

RESOLVED - That approval be given to the award of a grant of £1,000 from  the Ward Flexibility Budget (Cheadle Hulme South ward allocation) to ‘Festive Friends’ towards the cost of a community Christmas dinner.

RESOVLED – (8 for) That planning permission be refused on the grounds that the proposed development did not maintain satisfactory levels of privacy and amenity for existing residents by virtue of:-

 

(i)         a failure to meet privacy distances as set out in the Council’s SPD Design of Residential Development in respect of the distance from the ground and first floor side elevations of plots 3 and 4 to the boundary; and the distance of the roof lights serving the accommodation of plots 3 and 4 from the site boundary; and

(ii)        its scale, bulk, massing and density such that it would constitute an overdevelopment of the site.

A representative of the Deputy Chief Executive submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) seeking the views of the Area Committee on the current polling arrangements within the Area Committee area in order to inform the Polling District review.

 

It was commented that Polling Districts BA and BC used the same polling place at Emmanuel CofE Church Hall, however electors were required to enter by different entrances one of which was further around the hall which caused difficulties for elderly residents with mobility difficulties, was poorly lit at night and as a result posed a barrier to those wanting to cast their vote.  It was suggested that the same entrance be used for both polling districts as happened at Nevill Road Primary School as a means of mitigating against this.

 

RESOLVED – (1) That the report be noted.

 

(2) That the comments of the Area Committee be forwarded to the Returning Office for her consideration.

The report details a proposal to install pedestrian dropped kerbs to aid pedestrians to cross Oak Drive at the junction of Ack Lane East.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to give approval to the proposal to install dropped kerbs on Oak Drive, at the junction of Ack Lane East / West at a cost of £2,250 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bramhall South & Woodford ward allocation).

The report details a proposal to carry out a PV2 Survey on Ack Lane West, in the vicinity of Yew Tree Park Road to determine if the location meets the criteria to undertake further feasibility work to install a controlled pedestrian crossing.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to give approval to the undertaking of a PV2 survey on Ack Lane West, in the vicinity of Yew Tree Park Road at a cost of £525 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegate Budget (Bramhall South & Woodford ward allocation).
