The Minutes (copies of which had been circulated) of the meeting held on 17 September 2018 were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

The Scrutiny Review Panel are invited to consider and comment on the report and make any appropriate recommendations for considerastion as part of the draft final report.

Minutes:

The Interim Director for Education submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) outlining a number of issues relating to the relationship between the Local Authorities and Academies in the borough in respect to the curriculum and mental health & well-being.

 

The Interim Director for Education and his colleague attended the meeting, made a presentation and answered questions from the Panel in respect to a numbers of issues including the support provided by the School Improvement Service, a project undertaken by Dr Carl Emery on disadvantage and poverty, work undertaken with the CCG to promote the mental health and emotional well- being of children and the PSHE & Wellbeing online network.

 

RESOLVED – (1) That the report be noted and officers thanked for their attendance and presentation.

 

(2) That the Deputy Chief Executive be requested to incorporate the points raised and discussed in the draft final report for consideration.
