To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration

 

The report sets out the findings of a consultation exercise for Road Safety around School – St Josephs RC Primary School and seeks approval for the amendment of Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) and associated signage.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to approve the Traffic Regulation Order set out in the report and, subject to the receipt of no objections within twenty one days of the advertisement date, the Order be made.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a proposal to improve road safety for children and other road users in the area around St. Joseph’s RC Primary School.

 

RESOLVED - That the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport be recommended to approve the proposals for Road Safety around Schools in the vicinity of St. Joseph’s RC Primary School as shown on the plans (as detailed in Appendix C to the report), the statutory legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation Order and, subject to the receipt of no objections within twenty one days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders at a cost of £2,000 to be funded from the Road Safety around Schools Programme budget allocation:-

From a point 28 metres south west of the intersection of the northern kerbline of St Petersgate for a distance of 28 metres in a south westerly, then south easterly and then north westerly direction.
