Meeting: 06/11/2018 - Stepping Hill Area Committee (Item 7)

7 Creation of Bridleway Over a Section of Footpath 58 (Hazel Grove and Bramhall) pdf icon PDF 77 KB

To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

The report details a proposal to create a bridleway over a section of Footpath 58 (Hazel Grove and Bramhall) as shown marked A – B on the plan at Appendix 1.  The creation of the bridleway would improve access to and from Hazel Grove and Bramhall, and its employment areas, as well as Newby Road, Bramhall Moor Lane, Poynton, Stanley Green employment areas and neighbouring regeneration areas.

Surface improvement works along the proposed bridleway linking Newby Road and Rutters Lane will be undertaken and aims at improving safety for users - equestrians, cyclists and pedestrians. The works will include resurfacing the bridleway using tarmac and overlaying chippings to increase traction for the users.

The Area Committee is recommended to authorise the making of a bridleway creation order in respect of the section of the route between points A – B as shown on the plan at Appendix 1.
