To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

The report details a proposal to undertake improvements to the play area at Overdale Road Play Area to include the installation of a 1.7m high junior slide and a basket swing.  The cost of the provision and installation of the equipment in addition to the provision of new safer surface is £11,000 of which £6,023.16 has already been secured by way of commuted sums.  The Area Committee is requested to make a contribution amounting to the remaining balance of £4,976.84 to allow the works to progress.

The Area Committee is recommended to give approval to the provision and installation of new play equipment at Overdale Road Play Area at a cost of £4,976.84 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bredbury Green and Romiley ward allocation).

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a proposal to undertake improvements to the play area at Overdale Road Play Area to include the installation of a 1.7m high junior slide and a basket swing. 

It was noted that the cost of the provision and installation of the equipment in addition to the provision of new safer surface was £11,000 of which £6,023.16 had already been secured by way of commuted sums.  The Area Committee was requested to make a contribution amounting to the remaining balance of £4,976.84 to allow the works to progress.

RESOLVED - That approval be given to the provision and installation of new play equipment at Overdale Road Play Area at a cost of £4,976.84 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bredbury Green and Romiley ward allocation).
