To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

The report details a proposal to regularise anomalies between the existing lining and signage on Smithy Green, Woodley and the approved traffic regulation orders by revoking the existing ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ and ‘Limited Waiting’ traffic regulation orders on Smithy Green, Woodley and substituting them with new traffic regulation orders to reflect the lining and signage.

The Area Committee is recommended to give approval the legal advertising of the package of traffic regulation orders contained in the report, and subject to the receipt of no objections within 21 days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders at a cost of £560 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bredbury & Woodley ward allocation).

Minutes:

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a proposal to regularise anomalies between the existing lining and signage on Smithy Green, Woodley and the approved traffic regulation orders by revoking the existing ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ and ‘Limited Waiting’ traffic regulation orders on Smithy Green, Woodley and substituting them with new traffic regulation orders to reflect the lining and signage.

Members expressed concern that the Area Committee was being requested to allocate additional funding from its Delegated Budget to regularise errors in the original implementation of the Traffic Regulation Order.

RESOLVED – (1) That approval be given to the legal advertising of the package of traffic regulation orders and associated revocations contained in the report, and subject to the receipt of no objections within 21 days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders at a cost of £560 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bredbury & Woodley ward allocation).

(2) That the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration be requested to identify alternative sources of funding for the scheme to minimise the impact of the proposed scheme on the resources available to the Area Committee through its Delegated Budget in the light of the error in the implementation of the original decision of the Area Committee.
