To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

 

The report details a proposal to undertake a design feasibility study to install a pedestrian refuge at near to the bus stop SG3758 following concerns from residents in relation to crossing Stockport Road near the junction of Green Lane and the lack of pedestrian crossings.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to note that the Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing has given approval to the allocation of £1,000 to fund the design feasibility study, and that the results of this study be reported back to the Area Committee upon completion.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a proposal to undertake a design feasibility study to install a pedestrian refuge following concerns from residents in relation to crossing Stockport Road near the junction of Green Lane and the lack of pedestrian crossings in the area.

 

It was reported that Cabinet Member for Communities & Housing had already given approval to funding the feasibility study at a cost of £1,000 from the Strategic Budget.

 

RESOLVED – (1) That the report be noted.

 

(2) That the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be requested to consult the Bredbury Green & Romiley Highway Ward Spokespersons following the receipt of the outcomes of the feasibility study to discuss the potential solutions to the problems of crossing Stockport Road at this location.
