To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

 

Ward Councillors received concerns from residents regarding safety issues when vehicles are leaving Carlton Avenue. Vehicles are parked at the junction of Carlton Avenue and Compstall Road restricting the view for motorists entering into Carlton Avenue causing safety concerns.

 

Network Management Officers observed vehicles parked on the junction restricting the view of oncoming vehicles around the junction of Carlton Avenue and Compstall Road. A consultation exercise was completed for the four properties affected at the junction, three responded in agreement (75%); there was no response from the remaining resident (25%).

 

The Area Committee is recommended to give approval to the legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation Order and subject to no objections being received within 21 days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders at a cost of £650 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bredbury Green & Romiley ward allocation):-

 

Proposed No Waiting at Any Time

Compstall Road (North Side) - From a point 10 metres west of the intersection of the western kerb line of Carlton Avenue, to a point 20 metres east of the intersection of the eastern kerb line of Carlton Avenue.

 

Carlton Avenue – (Both Sides) - From the intersection of the northern kerb line of Compstall Road, for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) detailing proposals for the introduction of a ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ Traffic Regulation Order junction of Carlton Avenue and Compstall Road, Romiley following the receipt of concerns from local residents regarding safety issues when vehicles were leaving Carlton Avenue.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the legal advertising of the following Traffic Regulation Order and, subject to no objections being received within 21 days of the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the orders at a cost of £650 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bredbury Green & Romiley ward allocation):-
