7 Dedication of Bridleway on Land Owned Privately and Recorded as Footpath 59 Bredbury and Romiley, in the Goyt Valley pdf icon PDF 80 KB

To consider joint Report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration and the Head of Legal and Democratic Governance.

 

The report details a proposal to dedicate of a bridleway over Footpath 59 Bredbury and Romiley as part of Town Centre Access Plan Phase 2 works.  The TCAP Phase 2 works have been designed to link residential areas of Bredbury with Town Centre development sites for commuter and leisure use.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to give approval to the entering into of a dedication agreement with the owner of the land, over which the path marked A – B, (currently public footpath 59 Bredbury and Romiley) run, as shown on the plan at Appendix 1. If the landowner dedicates the bridleway, the Council will have maintenance responsibility to bridleway standard for the route.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration submitted a joint report of the Corporate Director and the Head of Legal and Democratic Governance detailing a proposal to dedicate a bridleway over Footpath 59 Bredbury and Romiley as part of Town Centre Access Plan Phase 2 works. 

 

The Phase 2 works had been designed to link residential areas of Bredbury with Town Centre development sites for commuter and leisure use.

 

RESOLVED – That authorisation be given to the entering into of a dedication agreement with the landowner whose land is currently traversed by the route for the dedication of a bridleway over Points A-B as shown on the plan attached at Appendix 1 to the report.
