To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration

 

In order for the access to the new housing development off Blackberry Lane, Brinnington to work safely (to allow drivers to see approaching vehicles and allow larger vehicles to turn into and out of the site), the report proposes to introduce Traffic Regulation Orders to prevent vehicles parking in dangerous positions.

 

The Area Committee is requested to approve the statutory legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Orders on Blackberry Lane, Brinnington, as detailed in the report, and, subject to no objections being received within the statutory period, the Orders can be made.

The Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) proposing to introduce Traffic Regulation Orders to prevent vehicles parking in dangerous positions in order for the access to the new housing development off Blackberry Lane, Brinnington to work safely (to allow drivers to see approaching vehicles and allow larger vehicles to turn into and out of the site).

 

RESOLVED – (1) The Area Committee was minded to approve the following Traffic Regulation Orders at an approximate cost of £1,150 to be funded from the development’s Section 278 agreement:-:

 

Revoke existing road cushion

 

Blackberry Lane, Brinnington, from a point 85.5 metres from the easterly kerb line of Lapwing Lane.

 

Revoke Disabled Badge Holders Only bay

 

Blackberry Lane, Brinnington, south side from a point 69 metres from the easterly kerb line of Lapwing Lane for a distance of 3.5 metres in an easterly direction.

 

Proposed No Waiting at Any Time

 

Blackberry Lane, Brinnington, south side from a point 57.5 metres from the easterly kerb line of Lapwing Lane for a distance of 36 metres in an easterly direction.

 

Blackberry Lane, Brinnington, north side from a point 57.5 metres from the projected easterly kerb line of Lapwing Lane for a distance of 38 metres in an easterly direction.

 

Cadet Street, Brinnington, both sides (entry and exit) from the northerly kerb line of Blackberry Lane for a distance of 8 metres in a northerly direction.

Proposed 2 No. 75mm Speed Cushions

 

Blackberry Lane, Brinnington, from a point 96.5 metres from the easterly kerb line of Lapwing Lane.

 

(2) That approval be given to the statutory legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Orders and, subject to no objection being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Orders be made.

 

(3) That the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be requested to clarify the inclusion of “Cadet Street” within the proposal as it was the Area Committee’s understanding that this new Street had not yet been named.
