Minutes:

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) setting out the results of an investigation into inconsiderate parking by motorists during the day close to the entrance to South View Gardens (off Schools Hill) as well as on the straight narrow section of South View Gardens leading to private residential properties.

The report stated that the Council had a duty of care to members of the public and to try and alleviate any potential difficulties in accessing roads. The proposed parking restrictions would reinforce the Highway Code item 243 ‘Do Not Stop or Park’:-

·         opposite or within 10 metres of a junction

·         opposite a traffic island

·         in front of an entrance to the property
