To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration

The report informs members of the proposal to improve pedestrian and cycle facilities by introducing a ‘TOUCAN’ signalised crossing on Higher Hillgate and shared-use paths on Daisy Street and part of Higher Hillgate. In addition, the report contains a proposal to prohibit the right turn movement from Harrison Street to Higher Hillgate.

The Area Committee is requested to recommend the Executive Councillor (Communities and Housing) to approve the legal advertising of the Moving Traffic Regulation Orders and Traffic Regulation Orders contained within the schedules in the report and, subject to no objections being received within the statutory period, the Order can be made.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) advising the Area Committee of a proposal to improve pedestrian and cycle facilities by introducing a ‘TOUCAN’ signalised crossing on Higher Hillgate and shared-use paths on Daisy Street and part of Higher Hillgate, Stockport. In addition, the report contained a proposal to prohibit the right turn movement from Harrison Street to Higher Hillgate.

RESOLVED – That the Executive Councillor (Communities and Housing) be recommended to approve the statutory legal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Orders detailed in Schedules 1-6 inclusive of the report, to be met by funding received for the Town Centre Access Plan, and, subject to no objections being received within twenty one days from the advertisement date, the Orders be made.
