To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration

The reports sets out the results of an investigation into the problems caused by staff working at the Southgate Office Centre parking on Wilmslow Road and preventing buses from drawing into the kerb to allow passengers to board and alight onto the footpath.

The report seeks approval to the introduction of a ‘No Stopping Except for Buses’ Clearway Order on an existing bus stop situated on the east side of Wilmslow Road, south of the Southgate Business Park.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) setting out the results of an investigation into the problems caused by staff working at the Southgate Office Centre parking on Wilmslow Road, Heald Green and preventing buses from drawing onto the kerb to allow passengers to board and alight onto the footpath.

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the introduction of the following ‘No Stopping Except for Buses’ Clearway Order on an existing bus stop situated on the east side of Wilmslow Road, south of the Southgate Business Park, at an approximate cost of £300 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Heald Green Ward allocation):-

East Side – from a point 32 metres, north east of the boundary line of property no. 329 tor a distance of 23 metres in a south westerly direction.

The order is established under Section 36 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 (none Traffic Regulation Order based).
