Minutes:

The Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) providing an update on the Highways Investment Programme and requesting the comments of the Scrutiny Committee on the proposed Year 4 detailed work programme and scoping work for Year 5 as outlined in Appendix One to the report.

  • Whilst welcoming the proposals for the Bredbury Green and Romiley Ward, a Member expressed the view that the programme should not have been put together on a Ward basis.  He requested that a small section of the carriageway on Central Drive, Romiley be deleted from the programme as it had been resurfaced a few years ago. He requested that this money be reallocated to resurface the carriageway on Moadlock.
  • A Member requested more details on what work remained to be carried in the Highways Investment Programme in future years.

RESOLVED – That the comments of the Scrutiny Committee on the Highways Investment Programme 2017/18 and 2018/19 be referred to the Executive Councillor (Economy and Regeneration) for consideration, prior to the final programme being approved by her.
