In respect of plan no. 61285 for a new classroom building to the north of main school, additional parking to front and alterations to access at Greave Primary School, Werneth Road, Woodley, Stockport, it was

RESOLVED – That planning permission be refused on the grounds that the propose development would, by virtue of its elevated position and proximity to residential properties result in an overbearing and over dominant impact and would therefore adversely affect residential amenity; and that the application failed to demonstrate that the scheme could be developed to accommodate a satisfactory drainage scheme and adequately manage surface water run-off at the site.

RESOLVED – That the Planning & Highways Regulation Committee be recommended to undertake a site visit to assess the impact of the proposed development on parking, drainage and privacy.
