To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

The report details a proposal for the introduction of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions at the junction of Powicke Drive and Overdale Road, Romiley.  The  proposals have been developed following the receipt of reports that the junction was subject to congested parking on a daily basis which hindered visibility and safety for other road users.  In particular there was concern about vehicles parking on the blind bend (Overdale Road) creating a potentially dangerous situation for vehicles turning left from Powicke Drive into Overdale Road.

The Area Committee is recommended to give approval to the statutory legal advertising of the following Order, and subject to the receipt of no objections being received within 21 days from the advertisement date, the subsequent making of the Order at a cost of £550 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Delegated Budget (Bredbury Green & Romiley ward allocation):-

Powicke Drive

South West side from the North Westerly kerb line of Overdale Road for a distance of 10 metres in a North westerly direction.

South side from a point 6 metres East of the projected boundary line between No’s 15 & 17 in a Westerly direction to the junction at Overdale Road (a distance of approx. 10 metres)

Overdale Road

North West side from the South Westerly kerb line of Powicke Drive for a distance of 10 metres in a South Westerly direction.

East side from the Southerly kerb line of Powicke Drive in a South Westerly; then Southerly direction to a point 2 metres South of the projected boundary line between No’s 195 & 197 (a distance of approx. 26 metres).

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) detailing a proposal for the introduction of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions at the junction of Powicke Drive and Overdale Road, Romiley.
