In respect of plan no. 57163 for the demolition of existing industrial buildings and erection of 113 no. residential units comprising 79 no. houses and 34 no. apartments with associated access, road and landscaping at Impact House, Charles Street, Heaviley, it was commented that there were inaccuracies in the detail of some of the plot elevations shown in the plans attached to the report and that these needed to be clarified and remedied prior to any approval being given.  It was further noted that the junction of Hempshaw Lane and Christie Street suffered from limited visibility and that mitigation measures would need to be implemented to promote highway safety at this junction.

RESOLVED – That the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration be authorised to determine the application subject to the removal of permitted development rights.

RESOLVED – (One against) That the Planning and Highways Regulation Committee be recommended to grant planning permission, subject to conditions, but advised of the Area Committee’s concerns regarding the lack of a visibility splay at the junction of Christie Street and Hempshaw Lane.
