To consider a report of the Corporate Director for People

The report provides an update on the impact of the closure of Offerton School and the effect on pupils.

A representative of the Corporate Director for People submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) providing an update on the impact of the closure of Offerton School and the effect on pupils.

It was reported that a range of strategies to support the smooth transfer and transition of the former Offerton cohort into Marple Hall School and Stockport School had been implemented. These included the appointment of additional teaching staff, a designated teacher with responsibility for supporting the cohort during transition, Year 7 induction days, meetings with parents and support for Key Stage 4 students with regard to their option choices and specific curriculum requirements.

RESOLVED – That the report be noted.
