To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

The report considers the lines of enquiry raised by the Working Party on 19 January 2015 in relation to visitor permits in residential parking schemes.

The Working Party is requested to consider its response to the lines of enquiry raised.

A representative of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration submitted a report (copies of which had been circulated) requesting the Working Party to consider the lines of enquiry as requested at the last meeting in relation to visitor permits in residential parking schemes.

The following comments were made/issues raised:-

 

·         The importance of health visitors having access to parking when required.

·         The adverse effect allowing free visitor parking permits may have on areas with limited availability of spaces.

·         It was suggested that entitlement to free visitor parking permits could be limited to those in Leisure Band A.

·         The possibility of checking whether blue badge owners have a car themselves.

·         The possibility of checking whether a residence has a car registered to it.

 

RESOLVED – That the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be requested to give further consideration to the issues raised and submit a further report to the next meeting.
