To consider a report of the Deputy Chief Executive.

 

The report summarises an objection received to a proposed Traffic Regulation Order at Levens Road, Hazel Grove and the response of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration to issues raised in the objection.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to make the Order as advertised.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Deputy Chief Executive (copies of which had been circulated) summarising an objection received to proposals to introduce No Waiting At Any Time restrictions on Levens Road and Newby Road, Hazel Grove.

 

RESOLVED – That the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport (Levens Road and Newby Road, Hazel Grove) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2014 not be made and the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration be requested to introduce an Experimental Order for No Waiting At Any Time on the North Side of Levens Road.

To consider a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management & Regeneration.

 

The report seeks approval for No Waiting restrictions on parts of Levens Road in Hazel Grove in order to alleviate problems associated with activity on the Newby Road Industrial Estate.

 

The Area Committee is recommended to approve the following Traffic Regulation Order, at a cost of £700 to be funded from the Area Committee’s Highway Maintenance and Traffic Management Delegated Budget (Stepping Hill Ward allocation):-

 

No Waiting at Any Time:

 

Levens Road

 

South East side from a point 10 metres South West of the South Westerly kerb line of Newby Road in a South Westerly; then Westerly direction (following the kerb line) up to and including the Turning Head at the cul-de-sac end of the street.

 

North side from a point 3 metres North West of the projected South Easterly building line of Unit No. 4 in a North Westerly direction up to and including the Turning Head at the cul-de-sac end of the street (to tie in with the restriction described above).

 

North West side from a point 10 metres South West of the South Westerly kerb line of Newby Road for a distance of 20 metres in a South Westerly direction.

 

Newby Road

 

North East side from a point 10 metres North West of the projected North Westerly kerb line of Levens Road for a distance of 30 metres in a South Easterly direction.

A representative of the Democratic Services Manager submitted a report of the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration (copies of which had been circulated) requesting the Area Committee to consider a proposal to introduce No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on Levens Road and Newby Road in order to alleviate traffic problems associated with business activity taking place on the Newby Road Industrial Estate.

 

RESOLVED – That consideration of the report be deferred and the Corporate Director for Place Management and Regeneration be requested to consult with properties and businesses in the Levens Road and Newby Road areas on the proposal to introduce No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on Levens Road and Newby Road but that the consultation document should ask on which side of Levens Road the introduction of waiting restrictions would be most preferable.
