The Cabinet Member for Economy & Regeneration has considered a proposal that Brompton Bike Hire deliver a bikes rental site in Stockport in partnership with the Council commencing with a pilot location to better understand the demand and the specific opportunities to delivering bike hire at the site.

The Cabinet Member has then: -

(1) Given approval to the principle that the Council will procure a Brompton Bike Hub to be placed in the Stockport Exchange site for a period of 3 years with the option to extend this if appropriate.

(2) That any costs associated with the scheme be funded from the Town Centre Access Plan programme budget with other funding secured from Avanti if the relevant bids are successful.

(3) That approval be given to the siting of the hub as detailed in Section 5 of the report.
