Decision:

The Executive Councillor (Communities & Housing) has approved the use of commuted sums for strategic open space associated with the Bellway Homes development at the site of the former North Area College. The funds were allocated as follows:-

·         £60,000 toward a Family Fun Area on the former Peel Moat site

·         £110,00 toward pitch improvement works at North Reddish Park

·         £88,000 toward path improvement works to create a jogging circuit in Crescent Park.

The anticipated residual balance of the Commuted Sum will be ring-fenced as a contingency against the three proposal in the first instance. Further consideration would be given to determine the best use of any remaining balance upon completion of these schemes.

The Heatons & Reddish Area Committee had recommended these schemes.
