Decision:

The Executive Councillor (Communities & Housing) has approved the allocation of £30,000 from the Formal Commuted Sports Sum for Phase 2: landscape and access improvements to a new wheeled sports facility at Alexandra Park.

 

The project has previously been allocated £50,000 from formal commuted sum for the Phase 1 development of the sprayed concrete ramps. This has been matched by contributions from project partners, Life Leisure and Alexandra Skate Park Association.

 

Phase 1 is expected to begin at the beginning of December 2016.

 

The total investment in Phase 1 is £141,000 and the delivery of the works are unaffected by the outcome of this decision.

Alternative options considered:

Formal Sports Commuted Sum is the only source of internal funds that is currently available to the Greenspace Service to fund this works.
