Purpose:

To approve the acquisition of land at the former site of the St Thomas’ Hospital by the Council in order to facilitate the development of housing for affordable rent and shared ownership. The dwellings will be managed by Stockport Homes Limited and will form part of the Housing Revenue Account.

Decision:

The Executive considered a proposal to acquire the site of the former St Thomas’s Hospital to facilitate a resident development in conjunction with Seddon Regeneration and Stockport Homes Ltd, and approved the following:-

 

·         the Deputy Chief Executive be authorised to conclude the detailed negotiations for the acquisition of the land and to vary the current lease and to award the contract for construction of the housing on the terms as set out in this report;

·         the Head of Legal & Democratic Governance be authorised to take all steps and do all things to give effect to the above resolution.
