The Executive Councillor (Communities & Sustainability) has approved the legal advertising of the following traffic regulation order and subject to no objections being received the order being made, at an estimated cost of £600,000 to be funded by the Greater Manchester Cycle City Ambition Grant:

Revocation Of No Waiting Restriction Monday – Saturday 8am – 6pm

Newbridge Lane – North Side, from a point 111 metres south-east of the projected South-Easterly kerb line of Millgate, North-Easterly arm of the roundabout (or from the south-easterly endpoint/extent of Millgate, South-Easterly arm of the roundabout) to a point 33m west of the projected Westerly kerb line of Alpine Road (a distance of approximately 378 metres).

Millgate (South-Easterly Arm of the Roundabout) – North-easterly Side, from a point 14 metres south-east of the projected South-Easterly kerb line of Millgate, North-Easterly arm of the roundabout, for a distance of 97 metres (or to the south-easterly endpoint/ extent of Millgate).


Newbridge Lane – South Side, from a point 128.5 metres south-east of the projected South-Easterly kerb line of Millgate, Westerly arm of the roundabout (or from the south-easterly point/ extent of Millgate, South-Easterly arm of the roundabout) to the Westerly kerb line of Bateson Street (a distance of approximately 313 metres).

Millgate (South-Easterly Arm of the Roundabout) – South-westerly Side, from a point 26.5 metres south-east of the projected Southerly kerb line of Millgate, Westerly arm of the roundabout, for a distance of 102 metres (or to the south-easterly endpoint/ extent of Millgate).

Newbridge Lane – South Side, from a point 15 metres west of the Westerly kerb line of Alpine Road for a distance of approximately 63 metres in a westerly direction.

Newbridge Lane – North Side, from a point 111 metres south-east of the projected South-Easterly kerb line of Millgate, North-Easterly arm of the roundabout (or from the south-easterly point/ extent of Millgate, south-easterly arm of the roundabout) to a point 33m west of the projected Westerly kerb line of Alpine Road (a distance of approximately 378metres).

Proposed Moving Traffic Regulation Order Schedule

The following areas of Footway/ Verge are to be converted into a

Cycle Track under Section 65(1) of the Highways Act 1980 so to provide a Shared-Use or Segregated Cycle/ Pedestrian facility:

 

Newbridge Lane – North Side, from a point 111 metres south-east of the projected South-Easterly kerb line of Millgate, North-Easterly arm of the roundabout (or from the south-easterly point/ extent of Millgate, south-easterly arm of the roundabout) to the westerly side of St Mary’s Way.

Millgate (South-Easterly Arm of the Roundabout) – North-easterly Side, from the projected South-Easterly kerb line of Millgate, North-Easterly arm of the roundabout for a distance of 111 metres (or to the south-easterly point/ extent of Millgate.

Newbridge Lane – South Side, from a point 24 metres east of the Easterly kerb line of Bateson Street to the westerly side of St Mary’s Way.

Millgate (South-Easterly Arm of the Roundabout) – South-westerly Side, from the projected Southerly kerb line of Millgate, Westerly arm of the roundabout, for a distance of 87 metres in a south-easterly direction, to and including the frontage of St Mary’s Gate.

Corporation Street – West side, from the southerly kerb line of Warren Street to the northerly kerb line of the Westerly arm of Millgate roundabout.

Millgate (Westerly Arm of the Roundabout) – Both sides and the pedestrian refuge island, from the westerly kerb line of Corporation Street for a distance of 10 metres in a westerly direction.

Warren Street – South side, from the westerly kerb line of Corporation Street for a distance of 28 metres in a westerly direction.

Proposed Toucan Crossing Facilities Schedule

Newbridge Lane – Approximately 46 metres (centre of crossing point) east of

the easterly kerb line of Bateson Street.

Millgate (South-Easterly Arm of the Roundabout) – Conversion from a PUFFIN – Approximately 41.5 metres (centre of crossing point) southeast of the projected southerly kerb line of the Westerly arm of Millgate roundabout.

The Central Stockport Area Committee supported the proposals.
