Purpose:

The report provides an update on the recent preferred Poynton Relief Road route option consultation and recommends a route to be protected for the scheme to be developed and to seek approvals to continue to implement the proposed A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road Scheme.

Decision:

The Chief Executive, in consultation with the appropriate Executive Councillor (Communities & Sustainability) has approved the A6 to Manchester Airport Business Case for submission to Department for Transport.

The Executive on 16 December 2014 delegated to the Chief Executive approval of the final business case once the statutory powers process has been completed delegating approval of the final document to the Chief Executive.
