The Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Policy, Finance and Devolution, following consultation with Group Leaders, has approved the following governance arrangements for the determination of applications for Ward Funding that were for ‘Borough Wide’ projects:-

·         Area Committee Chairs to meet with Cabinet Member for Reform & Governance on the evening of the group meetings prior to the Council Meeting (time to be confirmed but usually 5.30pm) when there are applications to be considered.

·         The applicant will be expected to attend to present their application and answer councillors questions.

·         The Cabinet Member for Reform & Governance will chair the meeting and there will be a quorum of two area committee chairs.

·         The convention will be that the Cabinet Member agrees the collective recommendation of the Area Committee Chairs present

·         The Cabinet member decision will be published and subject to ‘call-in’

·         Democratic Services will assess whether an application should be referred to area committees (two or more) for consideration or referred to the borough wide group

·         Area committees will be able to refer applications to the borough wide group for consideration and the borough wide group will be able to refer applications to an area committee(s)

·         The arrangements will be reviewed after 12 months.
