The Area Committee has agreed to make a financial contribution to the future maintenance of an elm tree at 30 Whitegates Road, Cheadle adjacent to public footpath number 18, Cheadle and Gatley as there is considered to be some public benefit. This assistance will only be given at such time as the Council deems the spread of the tree encroaches onto the public footpath, is only made to the current landowner and will be up to 50% of the costs to be decided based upon the requirements at the time.
