Purpose:

The report will set out progress with work undertaken by officers of the Council and colleagues from the NHS (commissioners and providers) to develop a shared vision for integrated health and social care provision in Stockport, to inform the redesign of services to enable health and wellbeing outcomes to be achieved within a financially sustainable system. The Executive will be asked to endorse this approach.

 

The report will also update members on the progress being made on the health and social care element of the GM Devolution agreement, and how that may impact upon and benefit the local work. The Executive will be invited to ratify the decision of the GMCA/ AGMA Joint Meeting to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with GM Clinical Commissioning Groups and NHS England about the framework for the development of this work.

 

Decision:

The Executive considered an update on the development of vision for integrated health and social care provision in Stockport being undertaken by the Council and local NHS commissioners and providers and an update on the progress being made on the health and social care element of the GM Devolution agreement, and how that may impact upon and benefit the local work. The Executive agreed that

 

·         the ‘Stockport Together’ programme for integrating health and social care as set out in the report be endorsed; and

 

·         the decision of the joint meeting of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the AGMA Executive Board in relation to the devolution of NHS funding be ratified and the Council Meeting be recommended to adopt the Memorandum of Understanding for Stockport.
