Purpose:

Stockport UNISON has asked Stockport Council to agree a joint statement on environment and climate change and to work on implementation through a joint environment committee.

Decision:

The Executive Meeting has approved a Joint Environment and Climate Change Agreement between the Council and Stockport UNISON that would support the existing efforts of both organisations to respond to climate change and reduce carbon emissions and requested managers to agree resource time for environmental representatives to attend meetings on behalf of UNISON on environmental issues.
