Objectives for 2023-2027.
Equality Objectives must be revised and updated in line with our
Public Sector Equality Duty, as outlined in the Equality Act
2010.
Through consultation with internal/external stakeholders, the
following objectives have been identified:
1. Stockport is a Fair and Inclusive Borough
2. To support all staff to achieve their full potential and ensure
that our workforce reflects the communities we serve
3. To understand our diverse communities and their specific
needs
4. To address inequality in our services
The report will detail the actions and measures by each
objective.

A range of internal and external stakeholders
have been consulted with including SMBC employee networks,
directorate representation within the Corporate Equalities Steering
Group, EDI community network leads, cross party working group on
inequality.
