Purpose:

This report contains the proposed Equality Objectives for 2023-2027.
Equality Objectives must be revised and updated in line with our Public Sector Equality Duty, as outlined in the Equality Act 2010.
Through consultation with internal/external stakeholders, the following objectives have been identified:
1. Stockport is a Fair and Inclusive Borough
2. To support all staff to achieve their full potential and ensure that our workforce reflects the communities we serve
3. To understand our diverse communities and their specific needs
4. To address inequality in our services

The report will detail the actions and measures by each objective.

Decision:

The Cabinet has considered the council’s Statement on Equality and Diversity for the 2023-27 period, and has given approval to the statement and the equality objectives identified within.
