That approval be given to an application from Overdale Residents Group for a grant of £431 from the Ward Flexibility Funding Budget towards the cost of organising a street party for the Queen’s Jubilee on Thursday 2nd June 2022, including a self catered afternoon tea, a live band, quiz and activities.

The decision has been taken as urgent action as the event is due to take place in advance of the next meeting of the Area Committee and as such, the ordinary approval process could not be followed.

That approval be given to an application from Bosden Farm Community Group for a grant of £490 from the Ward Flexibility Funding Budget towards the cost of organising a street party for the Queen’s Jubilee on Thursday 2nd June 2022, including an event in Poise Brook Park.
The decision has been taken as urgent action as the event is due to take place in advance of the next meeting of the Area Committee and as such, the ordinary approval process could not be followed.

The Chief Executive has given approval to the composition of Scrutiny Committees, the Scrutiny Co-ordination Committee, Ordinary Committees, Area Committees, Working Parties, other Member bodies, appointments to Outside Bodies and the names of the Chairs and Vice-Chairs (as detailed in the appended schedules) in accordance with:-

(i) the approved allocation of places on committees in accordance with the proportionality rules;

(ii) the expressed wishes of the political group entitled to fill those positions; and

(iii) the schedule of political groups entitled to occupy the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair approved by the Council Meeting on 19 May 2022.

That approval be given to an application from Friends of Shahnameh for a grant of £290 from the Ward Flexibility Funding Budget, ward allocations as follows:

£100 – Cheadle and Gatley ward allocation
£100 – Cheadle Hulme North ward allocation
£90 – Heald Green ward allocation

towards the cost of organising a ‘Celebrating Diversity’ Festival on 15 May 2022 – to include talks, music, and poetry readings.

The decision has been taken as urgent action as the event is due to take place in advance of the next meeting of the Area Committee and as such, the ordinary approval process could not be followed.

In consultation with the Mayor, I have authorised the appointment of Carol Thorne to the Independent Appeal Panel.

I have dealt with this matter urgently in advance of the next Council Meeting in order that specific panels can be appointed to determine appeals from parents for school places.
