Mr Kieran McMahon

Biography

I have been the director of Disability Stockport since 2003 having previously worked in mental health for many years.

I have lived with my wife and (now grown-up) children in and around Stockport since the mid-1980's. Having grown up in a two bedroomed council house with six brothers I have always been acutely aware of how hard it can be for families in difficult environments and circumstances.

The Standards Committee is important to me as it is an opportunity to work with people directly responsible for governing our town and to make the connections with my own experiences in life using the knowledge I have gained in my working career to influence attitudes and behaviour today.
